Sharing Sunday..

My Recent Craft shares...
Fabric Christmas tree:
Items needed Some sort of cone either cardboard or Styrofoam cone.
2 Quarters of Fabric of your choice.
Hot Glue gun or Fabric Glue
Scissors, Ruler.
Now I got the idea from JoAnn Fabrics but I did not follow it. I saw the pic and then I went my own way.
I purchased a hard cardboard cone for the base of the tree, I purchased two Quarter Yards of Fabric that I thought contrasted well, a light and dark work best.
I then made slits in the fabric length wise every 1 inch.
After making the cuts I then tore the fabric with my hands to get the frayed effect.
After tearing the fabric I then cut each strip in half. I pulled the strings from the fabric to make it even more frayed.
I then warmed up my hot glue gun.
I folded the pieces of fabric in half the folded half is glued to the cone, I measured about a half of a thumb up from the bottom.
I alternated every other one all the way around.
That gave me my base and I worked my way up from there.
At the very top I used one piece of fabric cut to fit, folded and then glued around the tip.
To fluff I turned the tree upside down and shook the fabric, with help of my hands I made sure all pieces were pushed to fly out then by shaking it side to side I fluffed it for a couple mins.
I am debating spraying it with starch, and possibly using my curling iron after sprayed with starch to curl the ends up.
